Preston Scholarship
This ASCN UK fund was set up in 2010 with the unique purpose of offering financial support for its members for any stoma care specialist professional educational.
The Jean Preston Fund (JPF) enables any full member of ASCN to apply for an Education Grant which can be used towards developing their personal knowledge or service to patients with a stoma.
The Fund has historically been based solely on donations, although starting in 2017, a percentage of the Annual Conference profit will be added to this fund as an acknowledgement of the challenges facing stoma care nurse and practitioner funding. ASCN UK - WCET® General Scholarship
Congress Delegation Fund
The WCET® - ASCN UK 2024 Joint Congress Delegation Fund is to assist delegates with travel and accommodation costs to attend the WCET® - ASCN UK 2024 Joint Congress. This funding opportunity is open to all delegates that wish to apply.
Application Submission Deadline: Friday, 5 July 2024
Notification By: Wednesday, 31 July 2024
Please submit your completed application and supporting documents to the Congress Organiser, congressliaison@wcetn.org.
Please note that higher priority will be give to those with an accepted poster or oral abstract.
INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS – PLEASE READ BEFORE COMPLETING THE FORM
Applications will be subject to review by the Congress Delegation Fund Application Committee.
Applicants may only apply for one (1) of the following scholarship opportunities. This will be confirmed with WCET® and ASCN UK prior to the awarding of the funding.

2024 Joint Congress Delegation Fund
Only completed applications will be considered. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Applications received after the 5 July 2024 application submission deadline date will not be considered.
There is a limited amount of funding available, therefore not all applicants will be successfully funded.
Higher priority will be given to those who have an accepted poster or oral abstract.
Successful applicants will receive a maximum amount of £400.00 for accommodations and travel costs will be paid to the maximum amount of £800.00 but only with proof of an economy train or airline ticket in the applicant’s name.
ESSENTIAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERA
Applicants must supply the following:
Proof of a paid registration to the WCET® - ASCN UK 2024 Joint Congress.
Copy of your nursing qualification.Documentation from your employer that they support your application.
Documentation of any additional source of funding or financial assistance that you are applying for or have received.
Documentation of the estimated travel cost to attend the WCET® - ASCN UK 2024 Joint Congress.
Evidence of your WCET® - ASCN UK 2024 Joint Congress abstract submission (if applicable).
A personal/professional profile detailing how this funding will benefit yourself, your organization and your community.
Norma N. Gill Foundation® - WCET® Congress Travel Scholarship
The Norma N. Gill Foundation®: Bringing a better quality of life to people with ostomy, wound and continence needs around the world. The Norma N. Gill Foundation® was formally inaugurated in 1980 at the WCET® Congress in Cleveland to honor the founder of the WCET®, Norma N Gill. In 1996, as a result of years of work by various executive members, the WCET® was awarded charitable status in the UK.
More recently, the NNGF® was recognized by the Internal Revenue Service of the USA as an entity within the WCET® and therefore subject to the jurisdiction of the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
The mission of the NNGF® is to raise funds for nursing scholarships to further Enterostomal Therapy Nursing education throughout the world and to help establish Enterostomal Therapy Nursing care where services are non-existent.
